These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the 4Drive Macedonia booking platform and the subsequent vehicle rental. By completing a booking through our website, you agree to these terms in full. Please read them carefully before proceeding with your reservation.
4Drive Macedonia operates an online booking platform connecting customers with local vehicle rental companies throughout North Macedonia. We process your reservation and provide you with a booking voucher containing all necessary details. The actual rental agreement is a separate contract between you and the local rental company, signed at the time of vehicle collection.
These Terms and Conditions apply to the booking process, payment arrangements, and our obligations as the booking service provider. The rental company's own terms will govern the actual rental period, vehicle use, and any issues arising during your hire. Your voucher will include the rental company's contact details and specific conditions.
When you complete a booking on our website, you receive a confirmation voucher by email. This voucher contains your reservation details, collection instructions, the rental company's contact information, and any specific conditions attached to your booking. You must present this voucher when collecting the vehicle.
The rental agreement itself is signed directly with the local rental company at the point of collection. This agreement will detail the vehicle condition, any existing damage noted during inspection, excess amounts, permitted drivers, and all rental terms specific to that company. The rental company representative will walk you through the agreement before you sign.
Collection arrangements vary by company. Some operate rental desks at Skopje Alexander the Great Airport or in the city centre, while others offer delivery to your accommodation. Your chosen collection time and location are confirmed in your voucher.
Our booking process requires an advance payment by card through our secure online payment system. This booking advance is processed immediately and confirms your reservation. Cash payments are not accepted online.
The remaining balance is due when you collect the vehicle. The accepted payment method for the balance depends on the specific vehicle you have booked and is clearly stated during the booking process and in your voucher. Some vehicles accept debit cards, cash, or credit cards for the balance, while others may have specific requirements.
If you do not hold a credit card and your chosen vehicle requires one for the balance or deposit, we recommend increasing the limit on your debit card before arrival. Payment requirements are tied to individual vehicles, not vehicle classes, so carefully review the payment terms shown for your selected model.
Most rental companies require a deposit at the time of vehicle collection. This is a temporary hold or block placed on your payment card by the rental company as security against damage, traffic fines, or other charges that may arise during the rental period. The deposit amount and whether a credit or debit card is required depend on the specific vehicle you have booked.
Deposit requirements are shown clearly during the booking process and in your voucher. The deposit is separate from the rental payment and is not collected by 4Drive Macedonia. The rental company will release the deposit after the vehicle is returned and inspected, typically within a few days to two weeks depending on your card issuer.
If your chosen vehicle does not require a deposit, this will be clearly stated. Note that having no deposit requirement does not change excess or damage liability amounts, which remain as specified in the rental agreement.
The primary driver must present a valid driving licence at collection. An International Driving Permit is recommended alongside your national licence. All drivers must meet the age and experience requirements specified in your voucher and the rental agreement.
Additional drivers can be added for a fee payable directly to the rental company. Each additional driver must present their own valid licence and meet the same requirements as the primary driver. All drivers must be listed in the rental agreement before driving the vehicle.
You must also present a valid passport or national identity card and the payment card used for the booking advance or an alternative card as specified in your voucher.
All vehicles must be driven in accordance with local traffic laws. North Macedonia has right-hand traffic with urban speed limits of 50 km/h, rural roads at 80 km/h, and highways at 120 km/h. An annual vignette is required for all roads and can be purchased at border crossings and petrol stations.
Cross-border travel to Albania, Kosovo, Greece, Bulgaria, and Serbia is allowed only with written permission from the rental company arranged in advance. You must request this when booking or at least 48 hours before collection. Additional fees apply, and you will receive the necessary documentation with your rental agreement. Travelling without permission voids your coverage and breaches the rental agreement.
Vehicles are provided in good working condition. You are responsible for checking tyre condition, fluid levels, and lights. Any damage or mechanical issues should be reported immediately to the rental company using the contact details in your voucher.
If you need to modify your booking, contact us at [email protected] as soon as possible. Changes are subject to availability and may incur additional charges depending on the timing and nature of the modification.
Cancellation terms are specified during the booking process and in your confirmation voucher. Cancellations made within the allowed timeframe may receive a partial refund. The advance payment is non-refundable if you cancel outside the permitted window or fail to collect the vehicle without prior notice.
If you need to extend your rental period, contact the rental company directly using the details in your voucher. Extensions are subject to vehicle availability and must be arranged before your original return date.
4Drive Macedonia is responsible for processing your booking accurately and providing correct information in your voucher. We are not liable for the condition of the vehicle, the actions of the rental company, or any events occurring during the rental period itself. These matters are governed by your rental agreement with the local company.
You are responsible for any damage to the vehicle, traffic fines, parking violations, and toll charges incurred during your rental. The extent of your financial responsibility is defined in the rental agreement and depends on the coverage options you selected when booking.
We strongly recommend reviewing all coverage options during booking. Optional extras such as child seats, additional drivers, highway vignettes, and cross-border permits are available and must be arranged in advance.

For issues arising during the rental period itself, contact the rental company directly using the emergency contact details provided in your voucher. They are best placed to provide immediate assistance with vehicle problems, accidents, or other urgent matters.
Our office hours are Monday to Sunday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM (GMT+1). We are located in Aerodrom, Skopje, North Macedonia. We aim to respond to all enquiries within one business day.
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of North Macedonia. Any disputes arising from your booking through 4Drive Macedonia will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of North Macedonia.
The rental agreement you sign with the local rental company is a separate contract also governed by the laws of North Macedonia. Any disputes relating to the rental period, vehicle condition, or charges levied by the rental company fall under that agreement.
By completing your booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions in their entirety.
